FX-2 Question

I was at the dealership today and saw a DSG FX-2 and am currently in love. I would be silly to sell my 05 F150 to get it though...so you know where I am going with this. I really like the front and rear bumpers being painted body color and the fog lights and front valanace remind me of the 2002 HD F150's.

My questions are is there a difference in ride height from my 05 XLT 2wd and the 07 FX-2 or is it just an illusion that it is lower?

Also does anyone know where I can get a valance and rear bumper suitable to paint the same as my body color?

Well I had the same thoughts as you, I traded my 04 Lariat that was completely paid for for an 07 fx2. I saw it & fell in love. This fx2 actually sits a little higher than the Lariat did. It seems lower in the front due to the bumper & valance, but I think it's a just a little higher than the regular 4x2's, I think it may be the 20" wheels! Good Luck!!

Im not sure about the ride height, but you can get the lower valance and grille at F150store.com.

Where can I get the fogs and brackets? They do not come with the valance.

there is no height difference in the front compared to another equally equipped 4x2 (both have 20's) however the rear now has a 1" block so its a little higher then previous years. Why they put a block in there is beyond me but mine were scrapped the first day. Good luck and I know what you mean about those DSG FX2's!

OK...I need some major help now!! I went to order the valance and they said it was only able to work on 08/05 and newer...mine of course is an 03/05 production date. Can someone that has done this chime in and help me out? I don't know what the differences could be.

Yeah i actually did hear something about this not being a "perfect" fit, but there was a thread in here somewhere that he just had to do a little work on it to get it to fit. So it is possible that the holes dont line up, but any body shop can make it fit with a little inginuity. Run a search for the FX2 valance

Just ran a search myself and i couldnt find anything related to modifying it to fit, but the only info i did find was someone had to buy an 06 bumper.

This has now officially become the FX-2 Clone thread...Did they put painted bumpers on any kind of F150 in 05? Or were they strictly an 06-up option?

I looked it up and should be able to use a bumper from an STX in 05 as long as it had the towing package. An FX-4 bumper would work also but I am certain they mounted differently and would need some massaging to work.

I lined my FX2 valance up to my stock '04 bumper and it lined up perfectly. I could have installed it on that bumper, or the one I put it on now. Not sure if that helps, or makes things worse....

I think it helps...it looks to my like from your pics you have a chrome bumper...is that the case? I want the round fogs and I thought that whole thing with fogs and all was the valance...that is not the case is it? I have the chrome bumper with rectangular fogs.
