Recommend a good backup camera...
I just got my new AVIC-D3 in. I had a basic backup camera with my Kenwood DDX-7015, but rarely used it. It didnt have the functionality to turn on the camera when I put it in reverse (or I just didnt have it hooked up properly).
Now the AVIC turns on the camera when I go into reverse, but it doesnt have the option to reverse the image. I was looking at something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7141904&rd=1,1
Its the same style (shape) as the one I have now, so it would be super simple to swap out. Should I beware of a $50 backup camera?

I have the license plate frame camera from PAC. On my way out the door right now to take the pictures I have been putting off forever!

I just bought the Boyo VTL200 from www.millionbuy.com for $149. This is the chrome/metal version of the frame that fx4 provided.
I haven't mounted it on the truck yet (still figured out the best way to connect all of the wires) but I did temporary connect the camera to check image quality and it's pretty good. I'm very happy with it.

Keep in mind that I was actually the first to laugh at it, when I was building it.

It is even funnier that it works as good as it does. Like in my thread, I can put it in the bed for the goosneck hook up and mount on the bumper and it is LED powered.
If anyone has connected a gooseneck trailer, it is a pain to BU, park, get out and look, re-position, repeat until in the right spot. Bumper pulls are just as difficult for me judging the distance. My 06 F150 a$$ end is so high it gets lost in the rearview.
It is NOT permanently mounted for parking lot situations, only for connecting a trailer. It certainly has it limitations for everyday reversing views but works fantastic for what I built it for.

Look at my build thread:
Ghetto Reverse Camera
I guess I should call it more of an Aggie Engineered Cam

My backup camera!
Here's a link to my gallery,
https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=6215
The back up camera was a fathers day gift a few years back. Once I got it installed I kicked myself for not doing it sooner. I hook up trailers on a semi regular basis and it makes it a breeze.
What took the longest was getting all the little tips carved off when I took the drivers mirror assembly out.
Not sure if I put it in the captions, but used a scrap piece of cable from ADT for the camera feed. was COAX and a pair for power all in one
