About the F 150

I have a few questions to ask as im a future F150 buyer(6months and counting)

Ok so the new F150 looks AWESOME but i have a few questions...
I live in Mississauga,Ontario,Canada and we have a lot of cool 150s around but i kinda dont like some of the designs...like i want to buy the F150 2007 edition but the front grill is something i dont like the look of. Im going to get a SuperCrew Fx2 but the way things are im thinking of buying a 2005 or 2006 which brings me to my next question...i can buy a brand new 150 for 20-30k and people who have 2005-2006 are selling theirs for 26-32k! am i missing something here? Not very experienced in the auto industry but i just cant fathom these prices. and for the record..the 2005 said it had 80k/kms and was selling for 28k. wow...just wow..

Edit

the reason i dont like the f150s supercrew 2007 is because i like how the honeycombe front is. here is a picture explaining it.

The prices can vary widely depending on the trim levels, options, etc.

The grilles on these trucks are so easy to change out, all you need is a screwdriver to pry down on the tabs, so don't let just the look of the grille deter you from getting what ya want.. The black honeycomb grilles are from the '04-'06 XLT (I think the '07 has chrome).

So anyway, you can get whatever grille style you want and change it out in about 20 minutes.

The used vehicle market is very strong right now, one reason prices for used tend to be on the high side.

Good luck!

As the auto industry approaches the end of any model year incentives can make a new purchase very competitive with pre-owned. So a 2007 (which will be a year old in August) may actually be less expensive than a used truck when you factor in rebates, discounts, and financing interest rates. Plus you still get full factory warranty and the peace of mind knowing that you are the principle owner of a new auto.

The grill that you would be getting with an FX2 is neither the "honeycomb" or the "H-style". Instead it will look like the one here:

This is very similar to the Rousch grill and compliments the styling cues of the FX2 trim level.

Read more about it here:

wow thanks for the amazing response guys. TexEdition thanks for that. but after i unscrew the H-Frame how am i supposed to mount the Ford Symbol back on it? anyways all your answers are great and i think im going to either wait till ford does the year end clearance event or think of getting an 06. whats your opinion on that?

btw in response to oxlanders reply that grille is only on the Fx2 Sport right? also about the price of it dropping in augaust as opposed to buying new, would that be from the ford dealerships? im only basing what i know from the build and price section on www.ford.ca. check it out and build your own f150 and tell me what you think.

Enjoi, I live in Burlington, Ontario and just got my 2007 SC Lariat 139" two weeks ago. I just did all of the research that you're starting to do and found out that buying a 2007 is a much better deal, especially after driving a brand new 2006. I'd say that the 2007 is a order of magnitude better than the 2006. I got ~$7K off the MSRP on www.ford.ca plus $1,000 of free accessories.

Send me a private message if you want more details. I can even point you to my sales guy once you know what you want.

The blue oval Ford emblem should be on any "factory" grille you buy.. I'd say check ebay for "F150 grilles". Or there are a lot of parts vendors on this site alone who can sell you a new grille.

Here in the US, usually from August to December, dealers are desperate (some moreso than others) to move units off the lot. I agree with Oxlander, if you can wait a few months then "build your own" off of whatever site, print it out and then take that to several dealers and ask them what they can do.

Also, check the websites of the dealers in your area.. I bought mine that way, it seemed too good to be true, and sure enough the sales rep and HIS boss both said.. "ummmm.. this can't be right..".. but I had the print out from their site.. they didn't like it initially, but nothing they could do.. there it was.
