Tailgate issues?

anyone ever had a problem with their tailgate?

jw cuz i think it stopped for now, but a week or so ago it had been going on for months, where the tailgate was really resisting going up or down ,and when going up it made a very loud clanking/clicking noise 2 or 3 times depending on how fast i put it up.

is this just a case of something needing to be lubricated? or is something else wrong with it.

Thanks!

You're supposed to unlock it first.

Sounds like it may have something to do with the spring used for the tailgate assist..That just a guess

I haven't had any problems out of mine yet. But then again it stays locked most of the time.
