Best (cheapest) place to get upper controll arms?

Ok, when the tire shop did my alignment they said that one of my upper ball joints was going out. Well my tires rub so I am probably going to add a 1.5in spacer. So I was thinking I would go ahead and get the upper control arm as well, that way I could put it all on and get it aligned again.

Were is the best place to get them?

Also if one is going out should I replace both?

Thanks

Not sure where the cheapest place to get them is, but if you're going to install a leveling kit I would be sure to buy good quality OEM parts. The leveling kit is going to put both of your ball joints at more of an angle 100% of the time than they would be at if it were stock. I wouln't trust any of the junk that Murray's or AutoZone may try to sell you, especially with a leveling kit installed.

Go with OEM from the dealer or at least get them from NAPA. The guys at NAPA are always very knowledgeable and should be able to help you out.

Thanks

Again your second link it for old body F1's only ford camburg JD and Total make arms for our truck. Now that I think about it I think my arms were 95 not 60. I got mine from directfordparts.com. As long as the price is right they are the same part so it doesnt matter.

do both sides...if one is worn out, the other is likely to go out soon as well.

doing this during the leveling kit install is a perfect time to do it also. I haven't done a ball joint repair on these trucks yet, so can't offer an opinion on quality.

btw, isn't the ball joint replaceable? I thought you didn't need to replace the whole control arm.

on another F-150 site, I've seen alot of people swear by Moog products

How many miles are on the truck? Is there any play in the other side?

This isn't necessarily one of those things that you have to change both sides at the same time.

If one is gone, it'd be stupid not to change out both. The other one will be along shortly. .

+1 it failed for some reason, and most likely that reason is going to make the other one go early also

btw, thanks extremeethan for the info on the upper arm. seems stupid to have it as a whole assembly. oh well
