XLT Interior

I was sitting in an '05 F150 XLT 4x4 Supercab on a used car lot the other day (looking for a truck for my friend), and I noticed that the seating was not a traditional cloth like in most cars and in the older model XLTs. I also noticed that it did not quite feel like the seating in my Dad's Titan.... so, what is the seating material? Is it the same as the seating in FX4s without leather?

I also noticed that it wasn't very comfortable... It was better than regular cloth, but not as comfy as the Titan seating.

Please understand I mean no offense to XLT owners, I was just wondering what it was. It was a wonderful truck, but I guess I'm just used to my leather... it has molded to my *** by now.

Thanks.

I'm not sure bout the XLT but the cloth seats in my FX4 are the nicest I've ever sat in, and I would think that Ford only uses one type of cloth in their F150s.

Not sure about what type of cloth is used in the XLT's, but I can tell you one thing about it, it sure stains very easily. Also these have to be some of the most uncomfortable seast of any vehicle I have ever owned. They're alright for short trips, but get into one of those multi-hour highway trips and you'll be shifting positions several times. That's the one part about my upcoming family vacation I'm dreading.

They do stain quite easy and yes do get quite uncomfortable on long trips. But I have added Coverking Neoprene covers to mine so the staining isn't an issue anymore and they are much more comfortable.

I agree with the stains just plain water stains the cloth on the seats in my XLT. I have no problem with the comfort of the seat on long trips.

It's some type of micro-fiber material. Very similar to the interior in the wife's Pontiac. Only nicer.

But is it different than the Titan? My dad's truck is the most comfortable non-leather vehicle I've ever sat in....this XLT had very stiff, uncomfortable seating (once again, no offense), and the FX4 interior looks different than the XLT. Maybe it's the color, I dunno.

XLT seats are comfortable for us old farts with bad backs. I couldn't go more than 1.5 hours in my 97 F150 without stopping to get out and stretch my back.I can drive for hours in my 06 without a break.
FWIW I don't find my nephews Titan very comfortable, but I do like the power.

The XLT comes with "premium" cloth seats.. it's a finer weave (for want of a better description) than "standard" cloth. And it does take up stains like crazy..
I do like the seats though even for long trips, never been uncomfortable in them and I 've ridden in all five places.. well, ok, the middle back isn't that great.. but the other seats aren't bad at all.. maybe it's because the people I've driven on trips are used to the back seats in chevy and ram x-cabs.. Those will make your back sieze up in about an hour.. lol..

My very old and very bad back likes the seats. They are far better than the bench seats I have had in numerous Fords over the years.

My seats are perfectly comfortable. They stain, but I found that the Armorall Wipes for plastic, vinyl, and cloth work great. Cleans stains right out.
