bench seat and column shifter swap

Anyone done this?? How hard of a job is it to remove the dashboard?? What all do you have to do to move the shifter up to the steering wheel column?? And if anyone would be interested in swapping with me for my bucket seats and console let me know!!

FX4 & EXCURSION did that swap, except he went the other way. He had a bench w/column shift and swapped in a flow thru console and dash setup. Check out his gallery for more info.

F.Y.I. Only LARIAT's with the console have the leather console lid. FX4's and XLT consoles get a rubberized plastic lid. Don't worry tho, you can get the leather lid at online parts vendors for about 60 bucks.

Well the rubberized plastic is good enough for me, it would be a waste to pay an extra $60 for a new lid.

You can keep your own seats...they are the same. The only difference is the center piece. Just get his center "20" (fold down seat) and he will get your console.

I THINK the dash itself is different though, and you will have to swap the entire dash out...that is pretty indepth and complicated.
