I'm not too worried about the price of tires...being that I work at a tire store, I can get them pretty cheap.

The tires are just the stock BFG Rugged Trail T/A's. My buddy's BFG A/T's make WAY more smoke than mine.

--

It can't be that bad for the axle...no different than peeling out in some snow or mud really. Once they're going, they stay going with really little wear and tear. Starting full throttle without the tires slipping would be tougher on the driveline than if the tires did slip. Something's got to break -- either the traction, or the driveline somewhere.

you must be a supporter of that show Trucks. They said the same thing.

put your truck into 1st gear, apply brakes, nail the throttle. trust me, you can and will start burning your tires. if you start rolling forward, just hold the brakes harder. try doing it on concrete or smooth asphalt. uneven/rocky pavement will destroy your tires even faster

you LS is stronger than you think. The Mustang has the weak LS setup.

I did one yesterday at some of the backroads at work. I couldn't believe the smoke, and the rear end almost came around on me. I'll try to get a pic of the marks I left cause they were BLACK.

I did that once, it was dark, the street was wet, on an "industrial" road. Had some freinds with me. I stopped in the middle of the street, they were like, what are you doing... I said hang on just a sec... brakes, gas... got the rear tires going good... barely a side step, graduately let of the brakes... I wish I had video of it, it was beautiful from the drivers seat...

but that smell of burnt rubber is NASTY.

Do FX4's not burn out or do yall not know how to do it?? I'll be ordering my new tires soon (at 350 a pop), so ill be placing a video of smoking and dounuts on heavy 24" wheels on a supercrew on dry pavemeant (tune intake exhaust on 3:55).. I saw someone said something about spining 35's, it must be a FL thing on being able to melt down some rubber

I think so, I can roast my 37s, the begining is pretty sketchy but once they get going they don't stop.

true, but you gotta have a little fun everynow and then. I lost 1,000 miles or so...oh well. I doubt they would have lasted 50,000 miles anyways.

I'll work on getting a couple of video's when I head back home in June. I finally found my camcorder batteries from all the unpacking, so I got it back up and running. I've done a few burnouts now, nothing major, but the smoke was unreal. I started one donut and threw the belt though, so I'm trying to figure out what happened there before I do much more.

I have a 4.6 that will do exactly that and more if I stay in it. I don't understand how people say these trucks won't do that. Especially if you have 5.4, you should be able to roast them easy.

Hmm that was pretty weak for it being wet out. The night I brought mine home I did a burnout when it was dryout and I sat there and spun them for a good min and had a huge cloud of smoke lol. Try again!

I couldn't believe it when that F150 on trucks couldn't burnout. That was embarassing to watch. My 00 7700 series will roast the tires on anything. I haven't found pavement that I can't burnout on. My buddies Hemi with Flowmaster exhaust and 33s will roast hard. He had 1st gear right to the rev limiter when he let go. It was really windy that day and its on a camera phone but you get the idea. We are also 1900 feet above sea level.
