Speed sensitive volume control

Ok, the speed sensitive volume control that turns the volume up when you speed up past 35mph is starting to bug me, or bug out rather. Occasionally when i come to a stop, like just before the truck stops rolling, it will blast the volume for a split second, scaring the bejesus out of me and any passengers with me. At first it was funny as hell watching the wife and kids freak out.

Does anyone know if there is a wire i can yank out and snip or a fuse to pull and a location perhaps?

Just scroll with your menu button on your radio, until you find it. It should be like the last option. Once you get there use the seek buttons to turn it down and completely off.

My 04 has it.

Do you know what the menu says exactly? All I recall seeing is the Treb, Bass, L-R, F-R Balance, and Volume **** speed.

It's that last option speed, that you mentioned. Turn it off and that should work.

I messed with that, all it effected is how fast the volume turns up in relation to how far you turn the ****. Ill turn it all the way down and give it a shot, thanks jrbhc8.

I'm pretty sure that will fix your problem if I can remember right. I'll be at work the rest of the day, so holler back if it doesn't work and we'll try something else.

Is this a factory deck? On mine it's one of the last options and it's the speed thing.

ROBFX4 - very timely that you wrote this. My '04 (which as the factory single CD player installed) does the same thing, only rarely. Yesterday evening, I put in some jazz trumpet CD (which my wife couldn't stand anyway), came to a red light, the thing blasted so loud for a split second that we both jumped. She immediately reacted by reaching over and punching the 'off' button.

I need to adjust the volume speed control or whatever the setting is called to see if that makes any difference.

That is the speed controlled volume, not a setting to increase **** sensitivity/input.

There are instructions in your factory manuals that cover all of the settings of the various factory stereos.

If it still increases volume after turning that down (or off), you have deck issues.

First off, you need to find this little bastard under your dash

then ring his neck. He loves it when you jump
