5w20 Motorcraft or equiv... I personally like Mobile1 Full SuperSyn everyother oil change. As for filter... Motorcraft or equiv, or I like K&N Performance Gold oil filters.

I tend to spend the extra $$ only because the engine is what makes the truck.

This topic was JUST covered about a week ago, suprised it didn't come up in a search. Regardless, I like to use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5w20 with a Motorcraft filter. I'd suggest using a Motorcraft filter or Wix, I had a problem with my 2004 F-150 and using a fram filter. I got a lot of noise at start up due to the lack of a good anti-drainback valve.

You need to work on your search skills, bud

Check this out: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=277832

There's also much, much more on this near-religious topic in the Engines forum. You can practice there ... LOL!

Good luck.

this may be a dumb question, but where can you buy motorcraft filters and oil other than the dealer?

Wally-Mart. Perhaps also try Advnced, AutoZone, or whatever franchise is prevalent in your area?

Thanks. Do you have to do anything special to go to full synthetic?
