I'm going to be changing my grille out soon and I'm wondering if its possible to seperate the black honeycomb piece from the chrome shroud?

 

Yes it is possible. There are a few threads related to this subject that you might want to search for. This will give you an idea as to how it's done. If you can do it without breaking any of the tabs you are more patient than me. I finally gave up and broke a few because I don't plan on using the honeycomb grill again. Good luck.
