Off-road aftermath:help

Hi, I was off roading and it got a little rough and I wound up busting the plastic valence under my bumper and bent and deformed the bumper some. I saw one f150 that had the front bumper taken off and a skid plate/light rack looking thing in its place. looked like a baja racer or something. Can anyone help me out on this im thinking about replacing my bumper, and this would keep any further expenses down. Thanks.

I'm guessing that your talking about something like this ^

that is a pre-runner style bumper. I did a little quick Google searching and found stuff for the Ranger and the 98-03 F-150, but nothing for our body styles.

http://www.prerunnermaniac.com/ these guys might be able to help you some.

if you didn't already know, Pre-runners are usually 4x2 that have huge amounts of suspension travel so they can jump stuff...like sand dunes. they're fairly light and can soak up lots of rough stuff. one of those bumpers will give you lots of frontal approach and clearance

if you've got a buddy with a welder, you can easily fab something like that together in an afternoon using a torch and some steel bars. throw some diamond plate on there and not only is it functional, but it can be pretty to

I see you have a 2-wheel drive. Is the truck lifted? How much off-roading were you doing? You could always go with a Ranch Hand bumper replacement.

Yes thank you Tylus that is exactly what im looking for. I actually saw a new body in a 4wheelparts magazine while i was sitting there, it was just like that one except it the plastic piece above the bumper was intact.

to freeky: yeah i have a 2wd it is lifted 2.5 in the front and 1.5 in the back. It was pretty rough offroading by my standards, but it included trying to speed through a muddy creek, getting stuck, trying again, then having to come back and thats when I hit the little bump right before the creek and my bumper came crashing down on the other side. Heres a pic of when i got stuck.

If you're going to try that spot again, might want to put a 10K winch on that new bumper.

I hope you plan on flushing your rear diff after that. It can get water and mud in it through the vent. Not being mean but man, it's amazing what some ppl will do to their trucks. And in ur gallery, the other pic where someone was drawing in the dirt on the tailgate on the paint..... Wow man...

I'd go playing in that. I used to live next to Fort Hood and they would let us 4x4 on the tanks trails...now that is fun.

I would have never suspected your truck was a 4x2 from the stance it has

what's up with the sawed off horns man? might as well convert and start saying "Hook 'Em"...there is no resistance

By a cheap jeep then you won't feel bad when you break it. I used my cheep jeep this morning. No way a full size truck would of made it! Not narrow enough.

Side note: I made it through the 2nd and 3rd time.

Side Note: 12-7

And on that writing in the sand...its also my sig. I just never remember to check the box.
