What mod after CAI,Exhaust and Edge?
1. e-fans
2. Underdrive pulleys (kinda pointless if you do e-fans though)
3. shorty headers (long tubes have clearance issues)
4. 4.10 gears (~$500 per axle)
5. Custom tune to account for the above stuff
6. Get blown. Supercharger is easier, but Turbo will make more power
the e-fans will help your engine rev up quicker and maybe pick up ~5 hp by reducing the parasitic drag of the fan. the headers can get you some real power gains if you get a custom tune done. 4.10 gears to increase your acceleration.

A set of Long Tubes, E-Fans, and Gears would be a big gain in power.
Where have you found gears for $500 per differential including labor!? The parts almost cost near that.
As well as the turbo, which kit are you talking about?

1. Scrap the Edge & get real custom tuning.
2. Scrap the FartMaster and get an exhaust that doesn't kill low end torque & top-end power.
3. Long-tubes only; shorties are junk on these trucks.
4. 3.5" AF1 (plus custom tune)
5. e-fans - kits are approx $300-$500

Those of you that think flows suck...wheres the proof saying that?I really like the supers 40's...sound good and theres no drone. And whats so bad about the edge? I would have went went with troyer custom tuning and an Xcal2 but I didnt want to wait and I wanted monitoring gauges. I also like the brute force.I personaly think my Exhaust/edge/CAI trio for my truck is great...she roars....I also have seen a nice increase is MPG when I dont have a lead foot. Oh and I havent even put it on level 3 yet either...than the chevys better watch out
nothings wrong with the edge... people who have it, love it. people who don't like to crap on it and say that a troyer custom tune is better. to each his own.
there are numbers out there between the flowmaster and others, like magnaflow. believe me, i went from the flowmaster to a magnaflow tru-x and it made a world of difference. splitting the y-pipe and getting rid of the 2 rear "cats" (if you have an early 04 that has 4) helped out too.
you may also want to look into the mechanical shift kit. the edge does a nice job of throwing around computer numbers, but the mechanical kit is an actual part thats installed in the transmission. helps out with firmer shifts and all.
supposedly, STS was coming out with a remote mount turbo for the 150's, but haven't heard much. not really worth it, if you run the numbers between that and a supercharger, its a no-brainer.

you guys are right, there is no turbo kit out there for out truck...yet
but lb for lb of boost, the turbo will make more power than a S/C...less parasitic loss and all that stuff...on the other end you start getting into lag times though
last year I got quoted $350 for gears (fronts/rears) and $700 to install at a local 4x4 shop. they said if I was a 4x2 that it would be about $400 (gears & labor) to do the install. because the front axle is such a PITA to work on though, the extra $$$ is charged. so, it averages to be $500 per axle

http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT24167.aspx Master install kit.
Do it in your driveway with an experienced friend if you can, and you can get it done.
If you are going into the diff, go ahead and swap the original diff out with a limited slip if you don't have one from the factory. The Detroit Truetrac is a good unit...

I would think $650.00 an axle is somewhat reasonable just for gears and labor. I have been quoted $2200.00 for 4.56s and Truetracs on both ends for my truck.

thats true... if he's got all the right tools and knowledge to measure the backlash and all...
