Twice on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, once through the rear window, once punched the lock cylinder. In both cases the Clifford Immobilizer ignition cutoff saved my vehicle. The first time it happened in broad daylight at a Wal-Mart, parking far to avoid door dings. The second time it happened in broad daylight at the gym. In both cases the thieves did not take anything because I never leave anything.

Another time my brand new 1994 Rx-7 got keyed bad at a Bally's parking lot. When I got to the car there was teenagers parked next to my car just sitting there doing nothing. Hmmm. I suppose part of the prank is to sit there and look at the victim's face.

The bottom line: the world is full of truly useless and destructive people. Do not rely on police or insurance to take care of you. Don't leave valuables. Use LoJack. Use Ignition cutoff. Use alarms. Every job is an inside job.

I have heard complaints of 40 year olds that left guns and laptops in their vehicles. I have wondered why these old folks have not learned.

1st time: Outside my apartment
Broken driver window (in january)
Took my Clarion head unit and all my electronic tools and books for school
They left my subs and amp
Cops found them and got it all back. They lived down the street.

2nd time: month later outside same apartment
Broken back and driver window
Stole my same head unit subs and amp
Cops found them month or so later. Got it all back and some money for damage

3rd time: outside house
Stole same head unit
This time no windows were broken This was all on an 89 montero that did not look appealing or have an alarm
Never got anything back.
