Anyhow, yes, it is just 2wd. As you can see in one of the pictures, it messed up the lawn a little bit... but the LSD really helped control the spin and damage to the lawn greatly. Just food for thought when you go out and buy a truck for work... you want to think about preserving people's lawns while you do your job... like pulling items. Really helps keep the spin down.

However, I did do an almost burnout on the pavement because I felt like it.
You should have just got a rolling start, I can't imagine you having to get on it that much to pull the shrub out. You could have just yanked it out.

I still did a 20' rolling start... but trying to control the torque is really hard and it still messed up the lawn. But I wouldn't be dumb enough to pull on a taught line. I always do a rolling start... that's another reason I got a really long strap. It also saves the clutch by a lot because by the time 20' is up, my foot is off the clutch and just on the gas. But I don't think my 30' was long enough... but the amount of room I had to work with was small.

I might just have a lead foot though.

However, being it was a tad bit small strap... it showed off the truck and it's abilities.

30ft Tow Strap from Wal-Mart - $25

Long Bed XL with 5spd and V6 - $17K (possibly a little more with the "Premium Kumhos"!)

Final pic of the killer shrub being pulled off by a little kid on a riding mower - priceless

Hey!!! That little kid on the riding mower was me...

Good to know at 21 I still look little...

I love it when I get a case of beer and I'm all shaven and neat, the clerks think I am underage until they run my ID through the machine.

Interesting thread... eh?

I'm with you but I just something like this, a little bigger though and it's got a roof. . No backhoe either, just a mower deck. .

Those NH skid steers are highly advertised where I live... I was thinking of getting one next year. But kind of pricey unless I was really into landscaping or other outdoor work. But some of the attachable implements are insane! It's either that or a midsize tractor.

New Holland skid steers are the best IMO. I have used CAT, Bobcat, Case, and a couple other brands. New Hollands are the best hands down IMO.. Skid steers are so much fun to operate!!

If you can drive a zero turn lawn mower, you can hop in a skid steer and get a hold of it in a short time. Go for it! . . or you could always get a mid-sized Kubota. I love mine, I just wish I didn't have that damn John Deere mower deck on the back of it!
