Comp Cams?

Has anyone here heard anything about the new cams out for the 5.4 from comp? I am trying to do some research to see if it is something I want to do, but can't find to much feedback on them yet

Same cam as in the new 3v mustang GTs...

Mustangs are having good luck with them.. gaining around 30RWHP with them.

You will need a good dyno tune immediatly after the install.. the engine will be moving alot more air and will be very lean.

The cams will set you back around $700+ install... I'd say count on $500 for install. + dyno tune.

Anywhere you find cams for a 2005+ Mustang GT, same cam for your truck.

Are you going to install them ? They can get you around 30-40 RWHP and RPM outlet sells them for a good price.
The model 127150 would be a good choice.

hte one limiting factor for these engines isn't head flow stock exhaust header flow, its the intake manifold. i recommend limiting the duration and increasing the lift. stage1 or 2 at the most. if you can heist an aussie 5.4 3v intake and add an 80 mm throttle body it will allow better gains. what you will find with bigger cams is less low end and a torque curve that dies at 5100 rpm. the only other way around it is for an aftermarket company to manufacture a real intake manifold. 16" runners = low end and nothing else. even 14" runner would be a vast improvement and cost a few lb-ft at most. then the limiting factor is the 75mm opening at the top.

stage 1 or 2. go for torque. no way to go higher lift without locked cam phasers. i am personally going with .550 exhaust lift. the phasers shatter from hitting the stops with the higher spring tensions necessary to handle higher than say .490 lift. my phasers will be welded. BOSS330.com sells adjustable phasers. it removes VCT.
