You know with all the fun I have been having with my screw I have serioulsy thought about finding a used 04 up reg cab shortbox with a 5.4 to do the same mods to it and make it the next generation of a lightning. but alas my wife wants a new house so that will have to come first then the play toys......

yeah its the wheels that kill it the most i think. but yeah i have 4.10's now and will have a troyer tune and no speed limiter so it should be more than that now. i may get back to the dyno in may and will see how it compares...

Thats cuz ford guys know they have a TRUCK.. and if wanted to go fast would have a mustang to mod. Cheby and dudge guys know they have a glorified car and want to go fast like one.

I love messing with the hemi's. I'm still waiting for an SRT-10 to come out of hibernation, I'd like to go up against one of them. Maybe I'll just have to have my brother go and test drive one.

I always thought Smok][n should have better numbers than the 308. Maybe it was a bad day for the dyno. The potential is there, and he had enough power to tear up some driveline parts. I started around 340RWHP with 8psi, stock whipple tune and 22" wheels/tires, so I don't think the 22's take away too much.

thanks for the look on the bright side

im also throwing multiple codes on the check engine light so that may have something to do with it. i seem to be having cam sensor and cam phaser troubles... they seem to be minor but it may be enough to slow it down a little. my motor runs good at WOT, but i do have a rough idle which gets me wondering whats going on...

but hey, i thought the stock whipple kit was suposed to put out 394 rwhp (according to the website) so your 340 would seem low right? could the wheels have something to do with it? or am i missing something else?...

My curve was actually consitent with Whipples, but we hit the speed limiter, so it stopped. If we could of gotten to the same RPM's, I would of been around the mid 370 range. That sounded about right being that I was a supercrew, 4X4 and have 22" wheels. They were 2wd, extended cab and stock wheels/tires. Pretty much everybody that I saw with the stock whipple tune had the same issue and was in the same range. Whipple said they had the speed limiter off when they did their dyno run, so the advertised numbers aren't obtainable unless they turn it off.

Have you checked your plugs lately? Maybe the dealership can hook their equipment up and see if there are any issues. That's how I found out about my plugs being bad.

If you go with the stock tune, you will probably see numbers around the 330-340 range. The gears should compensate for the larger tires, so I'd think you would be right in there with the average numbers.
