Exclamation Crazy Exhaust Question!

I want to stick with the stock exhaust because it adds backpressure for torque.

Now... I want to make it dual exhaust... like a SI/SI but with a SI/DO y-adapter... if you know what I mean and port them out the rear. Basically keep everything stock, but instead of the exhaust coming out the rear right, have it exit on two pipes below the rear bumper. (Like a fake dual exhaust...)

Got a couple of questions about this:

1. What kind of sound am I expecting? Will it be the same as stock? Louder? Dual notes?

2. Will this affect my torque if I just route rear portion of the exhaust out the rear?

3. This might sound crazy... but would there be a gain of anything?

Just wondering... because I don't want to mess with the exhaust because I want all the torque I can squeeze out of this engine. But I also want my truck to look nice. Nor do I want some crazy or elaborate exhaust system. Maybe at 15k I'll throw something on. Just can't see throwing away a good muffler.

As long as you keep the stock muffer and location for that muffler, you wont change sound or performance.

First off, you have cats; you''ll have enough back pressure in those cats to run straight pipes and not lose that much low end torque. .
