anyone had luck replacing fx4 cluster?

Hey,
When my truck was stolen, they broke out the gauge cluster. To find out, there impossible to find!! I can only find stx clusters, and don't wnat to go spend a tons a dealer, i dont care if it has 0 miles, but no more then 25,000 miles. Anyone know where to get one? I bought one, and it has 89,000 miles on it, but noone could reset it? thanks!

I've never done it, but a cluster swap is common. The mileage on the new cluster is meaningless, it has to be reprogrammed to your truck with your mileage by the dealership. You just have to find one that knows how, and/or is willing to do it.

If it were stolen shouldn't your insurance company buy you a new OEM unit?

I just got one about a month ago and had no big issues. The dealer gave me a little grief about the miles not being dead on, but once I presented the proper paperwork it was done in less than 30 minutes. If you already have one, it can be sent out and adjusted to WITHIN +/- 120 MILES (little something I didn't know before and thus the grief at the dealer.

Did you email me about getting it programmed? Someone did I can't recall who it was.

I was wondering the same thing about the insurance covering it, I assume you didn't report it and you're fixing it yourself?

I can't program it myself, I don't have no extra $6500 for the tool to do it, but I can recommend someone who can do it. Send me another email.
