Frame-Mounted damper kit

Does anyone know what they are talking about with regard to this frame mounted damper kit?

Consumer Guide

See the section labeled:
Vehicle shake: A vibration at highway speed felt in the floor and/or steering wheel may be corrected by installation of a frame-mounted damper kit. (2004-05)

Best way I can describe what it looks like is a ceiling fan with only only blade and a weight on the end of the blade. Whether it works or not, Can't say

Not trying to resurrect a thread from the dead, but when I Googled this topic this thread came up.

After several hours of research, many phone calls and faxes with several Ford dealers, I can answer most questions about this issue.

There is a new TSB "VIBRATION DIAGNOSTICS—STEERING WHEEL NIBBLE—TIRE WHEEL RUNOUT AND BALANCE (08-24-02) on this topic. The TSB describes 5 items to check and includes installing a frame damper kit. The kit comes with installation instructions as well. The kit runs less than $100 and takes less than 1 hour to install.

If you would like a copy of the installation instructions, TSB and pictures of an installed frame damper kit PM me with your email address (I do not believe posting your email address is a good idea).

I can not post attachments yet as I have less than 100 posts.

PS: after all my research I found out my F150 FX4 already had this frame damper kit installed at the factory - some do, some don't.
