That is funny... They didn't paint my rockers either.. There is dirt in the paint of my truck as well. As well as paint and clear runs in various places on my truck. No one else has ever noticed it but me though...

I agree with the touch up paint, because UNLESS they have REALLY good painters... your truck will look worse than it does now. Yeah, the orange peel looks bad in the pictures, but it "might" not be that bad in person.. Don't feel bad, every domestic vehicle I have seen has had a lot of orange peel. You can wet sand it smooth, but I would NOT suggest it unless the person is a pro. I would just make sure it doesn't flake off anywhere else.

Exact reason why I spend over a hour inspecting a vehicle before I sign the papers. .

If I saw that bump of paint, I would have bought it anyway. The more I think about it, the more it doesn't really matter. I needed a new truck ASAP...didn't feel like ordering something...and the only other FX4 supercab they had was silver and not two-tone...and my last truck was silver. Yeah, silver is nice, stays really clean, but the dark blue seemed like it'd be more rewarding after you washed it. I'd have gotten a can of touch up when I bought the truck though.

I guess I need to take a better pic of my truck for my sig...I see what you mean now. The lighting was weird there in the woods, the sun was just setting, which casts yellow throughout the image...so I guess that kind of turned the blue green.

I wouldn't worry about it, I would just make sure it doesn't flake off anymore... If it does, I would do something at that point. No vehicle is going to stay perfect if it is exposed to normal driving anyways. Your truck looks good! I also wouldn't worry about the orange peel, because every domestic and most imports have that problem.

Wow man...that's harsh. You know it took me a good couple of minutes to figure out what exactly that picture was of (I did just wake up). I was like...It looks a little bit like one of those fart-can mufflers on imports with some weird baffle inside...of course then the pic would have to be upside down.

I don't think it's a big deal. I may have made a stink about it if I noticed it in order to try to get a little more money off the price, but would still have bought it. Hell, when you can take several thousand dollars right off the sticker, you know you're not exactly buying a Rolls Royce. I've washed my '07 twice in the week I've owned it and haven't noticed any real imperfections. I'll be waxing it soon though so we'll see then.

My truck has the worst paint job of all the Fords I have ever owned. My whole truck is covered in orange peel. There is not a single clear, smooth panel on the truck at all. My family has owned multiple F-series, Mustangs, E-series and this is by far the worst.

I just can't believe that Ford can make all these great advances on vehicles but they still can't paint a vehicle any better than a retarted monkey.

Trust me on this one... have them repaint the area to fix it. Insist on a complete panel repaint.. not a spot repair. Your truck is new enough that the paint will match very well and it won't fade in time. I painted kenworth trucks for over 8 years. I know a little about paint. The touch up job will be a lot worse in the long run.

I had 5 seperate spots on my truck that I made the dealer get repainted. I'm normally on ford-trucks.com, but I'm branching out to here as well.

http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/55...-the-door.html

here is the thread on their site with a pic of the biggest spot. This is something that everyone should check their truck over inch by inch, and also run their hands across the clearcoat. That's how I found 3 of the spots. The paint had started bubbling, but the defect hadn't become visable yet. Took 5 days to fix, but it's done right now.

Well, I stopped up the dealer today and the body shop was closed, but I was checking out a nice Saleen mustand (281 or whatever they're calling it) -- there was orange peel all over the paint on it...except the plastic painted part that covered the rear seat (it was a convertible). Sticker: 67,000

I saw a Saleen F150 also in the corner, but didn't make my way over to it. I'm definitely going to check that out Monday when I stop up for my touch up paint.
