Another Dumb Edge Question.

Maybe I am missing something but I have noticed that Edge and Edge like programmers and displays are missing a key PID. OIL PRESSURE! Why don't they have this, I suspect I am not understanding something. Thanks for your input.

Because the sensor that Ford uses is not one that actually reads true pressure. It is basically an off and on switch. If pressure is there, you get a normal reading. No pressure, your needle drops.

So without the proper sensor, the EDGE has nothing to read.

I think if you do a search of oil pressure, or guages, you may find the thread that caused a pretty good discussion on the oil pressure guage scam that Ford has going.

Ford is very far from being alone in that one.

Thanks for the enlightenment! I kind of figured something like this but I thought I have to be wrong since there is what seems to be an analog gauge on my dash. Jeep must be the same way.
