ok so i took my steps off and now where the brackets were there is a 3x11/2" hole...

the holes are where the brackets bolted into the sides of the door sills...the bolts were just through the metal and into clips so i took them and the clips out no need to replace them since they aren't threaded and the metal is only like 1/2" thick....however now since i live in rust prone area im worried about stuff getting in those holes and since there isn't any drainage holes that i can see im worried it will just rust out eventually? should i b worried and if so what do you recommend...thanks

Those holes are covered with tape from the factory, at least mine was. I had to pull it off before installing my step bars the day I brought it home.

Damn man, don't you kind of need those steps to get into your truck? You must be tall.

Anyway, yeah...the tape that covers stuff like that is just clear tape, but it's pretty thick. I'm not sure where you'd buy it, but it's a ton thicker than scotch tape. I bet duct tape would work to be honest.
