I replaced my FX4 plastic lid with a Lariat lid and couldn't be happier. It is much softer and matches what I think you are describijng as sport leather.

My 2005 has a vinyl center and leather on the outside of the seat. I don't like it but didn't do enough research when I bought it.

Gotta change that lid!
