07 - Auto Dimming Side Mirror Upgrade

Ok so I have an 04. I heard the 07s have an auto-dimming driver side mirror. Is this true? If so has anyone looked into the price and complexity of doing an upgrade on an 04 with the heated mirrors?

Thx

Yes, the deluxe mirror package for '07 now includes the autodim/heated/signal drivers side mirror.

yes, my 07 FX2 has them, however...it is sometimes annoying, as when u look at the mirror at night, u see a blue film covering the mirror leaving about 1/8 - 1/16 of an inch all around that is not covered with that blue tint. So sometimes, when u turn ur head left to look into the mirror, ur eye catches the headlights behind you in a fashion that makes it seems like a flashing light...hard to explain. But IMO the auto dimming mirror is worth it, i love it

I know what you mean about the outline border of the mirror without the blue tint. Overall though, its great and worth it. Not sure I'd go through the hassel of putting it on a truck that doesn't have it, but its worth ordering it on a new truck.. The power fold function is also SWEET.

Depends on how easy it is to swap it out. I like the power fold but it was too involved for me as I don't even have a garage.

I don't think it's simple. I've heard some chatter about Ford changing some wiring from 06 to 07 with regard to the mirrors...

Its a nice feature to have but I wouldn't go adding it on myself. Its not worth the time. The power fold option is awesome, now if only they could make that mirror signal sequential.
