Redneck Swimming

So this is for the math guys really.

If i put a tarp in my truck with a 5'5" bed and fill it with water, how much will it weigh?

Will i ruin anything with having a bed full of water.

I'm thinking half a bed of water and pulling up to a friends house or going to a park to relax with a barbecue as a joke.

haha let me know

Do the math.

Find the volume of the bed, figure out how much water will fit into it....then figure out how much that amount of water will weigh. That should give you a rough estimate.

If ya really want to know.......

Length of the bed times height times depth.

That is your cubic feet. One cubic foot holds 7.48 gallons which weighs 62.43 pounds.

There you have it.

Water (1 cu. ft. weighs 62.41 lb) so say 5f X 5f = 25f and say 2 f deep 50 sq f 50 X 62.41 = 3120.5 lb

We did that with a friend's truck. Lined the floors and sides of the bed with Saran wrap, took a water hose to it and went cruising around town in our redneck mobile swimming pool.
