Help- radio problem. "Alert Report"

I was driving home today from work listening to a CD (I have the audiophile 6 disc) when all of a sudden my cd shut off, and the fm radio came on. The Screen reads "Alert Report"..i cant change the station or anything. If I hit the AM/FM button then I can change the stations.... But if I try the CD or AUX input (sat radio) it will play for a few sections and then "Alert Report" keeps coming up... what the hell does this mean? How do I make it stop......

I unhooked the battery, unplugged the radio, etc....... so what the hell is going on?

Does your radio have the RDS feature. The one that tunes into Traffic Alerts or something to that nature?

You might have RDS on. And they are sending out an alert report over the radio.

If it's what I'm thinking there should be either a RDS button on your radio or in the Menu somewhere should be a RDS setting. Set it to off and you might be good to go.

Hold the menu button in for a couple of seconds to access the RDS options.
