Just browsing the catalog text for painted tailgate handles, and I stumble upon THIS!!!
It apperars to be a tailgate mounted Rear Camera. I would assume to be an added feature to the Factory Nav units. Not a sure thing, but it looks as if it is in the works.

 

I'm very in with this option, what is the link?

 

Toyota introduced it this year and I think most will have it next year. I think the Feds are about to require it anyway. I installed one on my truck because of the grandchildren and would't consider being without it.

 

I looked further into this, and it appears that Ford will use a LCD integrated into the inside rear view mirror. Looking at the mirrors, there is one listed as "video capture" and has a list price of $761 !!!!! Just another option to look foward to.
