Doing oil change this weekend, what do you recommend?

Doing the first oil change on my truck this weekend. 11,500 miles. Bought it when it had 8,400 miles. Its an 05 4.6L. What type oil do you recommend using? Should I use reg oil, synthetic blend, or a full synthetic? This is my first V8 and am not sure on which is best to use. Also, What filter should I get? Thanks for the help.

Andrew

I recommend a Fumoto Valve.

Motorcraft filter for sure.
I've used both the Motorcraft (syn blend) oil (first few oil changes) and the Mobil 1 full syn since.

F1AZ-6731-BD, Motorcraft # FL-820S. Yes, the same filter from your 4.6 works on your 5.4 3V.

Motorcraft filter and Mobile 1 full synthetic is what I use. The motorcraft filter is the for sure thing to use. The oil is more personal preference.
