Noise from steering wheel?

Sometimes when I'm turning left (at any speed), I will hear a noise that sounds like a quick clicking coming from the steering wheel area. It's hard to describe, but the closest way I can think to describe it is like a quick zipper noise or if you were to run your finger over the grooves on a quarter or dime. Very odd.

I have not had any difficult steering. It is not a CV joint or anything coming from the tire/wheel area - it's coming from inside the steering column.

I had thought that it could be the clockspring. Any other thoughts?

I would guess the clockspring. I had mine replaced under warranty. It came back later, oh well.

Yes. You have what is called a clicking in the steering column. I had the same thing.

There is a TSB out for it, go to your local dealership and have them fix it for you. I did and no more clicking.

Good luck!

Read this thread for the TSB.
