Bent front bumper at delivery

I have had my 07 F-150 for about three weeks now and something has been bugging me since I got it. The gap between the front bumper and upper fascia is bigger on the left side than the right. I thought it was me until I had a guy from work with the same truck pull up next to me. Big difference.

Well I called the dealer and they said bring it in. By the time I got there most of the techs were gone for the day. But the service writer said they have seen it before and it is usually caused by the truck being chained down too tight on the car carrier and the bumper gets twisted. He said they just did replace a rear with the same problem.

Does this sound right?? If that is the case is there anything else that may have been damaged that I might not see?? Could anything in the suspension or frame be damaged?? If so how would I be able to tell.

The front bumper is held on by 4 bolts and it should be relatively easy to straighten it yourself. The bumper is attached to the frame; I'm not sure how they attach the truck to the car carrier, but it seems odd to me that they would attach it to the bumper.

So is the bumber actually bent, or is it just misaligned? Many come misaligned from the factory. It's pretty simple to fix; there are 4 bolts holding it on. Loosen them, align bumper, then re-tighten bolts.

OTOH, if the bumber is actually bent, then it will need to be replaced...

I'd say bring it in and make sure they fix it. My Ranger's hood gap (between the hood and the grill) was more on one side than another, but I never worried about it.

I also don't think those truck carriers tie the trucks down by the bumpers...that would really surprise me if they did.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like a simple fix but I'll let them deal with it just in case there is more to it.
