But the differnce is that the diesel guys are in OD with the cruise control on doing around 2200 rpms. I assume that you are in 3rd or even second an approaching 4000 rpm just to keep up. With a flick of the loud pedal and a puff of smoke, they could run away from you like you were standing still.

I couldn't agree with you more. But also remember that our (gas) trucks are made to run at 4000 RPM. That's where they make their power. I have absolutely no problem peggin' the throttle, running it at 4000 RPM all day. Again, that's how they're made. On the other hand, try to run a diesel at 4000 RPM for any length of time, and you'll be in trouble. For me, I just make sure I keep the motor & tranny within acceptable temps, and make sure the fluids are always fresh.

It looks like you have the 17 inch weels and I can obviously see a scab. Depending on the actual gear ratio and tire size will determine your ability to tow and your trailer size - look up the tow ratings.
6-7 loaded is probably a good rule of thumb. You need to keep an eye on the passenger weight and the weight of things you are going to have stacked in the bed.
My truck is an 05 SCAB w/ 5.4L & 3.73 gears 6 1/2ft bed with the towing package class IV hitch, I also just added the Edge Evo to it and plan on exhaust and possibly a CAI. The Ford towing guide shows 9,300 lbs as the capacity, I just wanted to get a feel of what others on the site have been hauling around with trucks like mine, and just how well the trucks are handling the load. It sounds like the trucks are handling the loads pretty well, so I am feeling more confident in going 6-7K max.
Thanks again

class 3

Is anybody using a class 3 sticker on their truck, registration $153.00 a year. Or can I get by with a class 2 sticker which is $81.00 a year. When I purchased the truck, the plate sticker came in the mail with a class 3. I been paying class 3 sticker ever since. I tow 7000 lb camper.
