Rear end shudder, clutch packs?

Ok, its gotten real bad right now. I asked before but then I got chewed out cause i said clutch........and not clutch packs with a bunch of guys going 'you drive a automatic' and im like 'yeah i know, thanks f150online.com guys' But anyways. The truck has a bad rear end shudder when I take off from a light or a stop and im turning, like in a turn lane. It feels like im going over a bunch of little bumps. Is it the clutch packs that ive been hearing about?

Sounds like the clutch packs in the LS. Take it back, there is a TSB and if your warranty is not up it will be covered. I had the same problem and they fixed it. The warranty receipt showed a price of $519.

Im hoping the 3rd time is a charm...

Ive just had mine replaced for the third time and so far they are holding in there.
My concern is when the warranty goes out and now I have to pay out of pocket because Ford still doesnt have the fix.

Yeah, that would be the clutch packs. It would really be swell if Ford would drop the '60's technology and step into the 21st century.

Limited Slip, as in a Limited Slip diferential. Our trucks either have a Open diff or a LS diff.

I posted about my ordeal with the LS awhile back, but I'm too lazy to search for it. Anywho, Ford uses a friction modifier additive to allow the pack to slip when not needed, but "lock" up when one wheel spins freely. I had this problem at first, so I took it in. They changed the fluid and added the specified amount of modifier. A month later, I noticed that my LS was not "locking" up out in the mud, so I took it back in. This last time was the charm. After another trip to the ranch in the mud, it worked as expected without any tightness or one wheel spins. Been fine ever since. It sounds like yours needs more modifier to allow smooth slipping.
