No. You may not list items for sale in the forums.

Additionally, don't post with 'PM me... I'll buy this and that...'. We have a classified section here that is free to use and is accessible by all members. Please utilize THAT resource and not the forums.

Thank you.

Not trying to be a ***** here... but, that's why the other thread was removed and also why, within the other thread, you were told that you couldn't post them as it was against the rules...

Thanks for understanding... again, I'm not trying to be a jerk (it's difficult to interpret that when someone's typing and posting to a community).

That said, I'm pretty sure Josiah was trying to be a jerk -- or at least promote being a jerk. I'm kind of used to that from him though.

I'm ruining 93 on my street tune and C16/117 octane on my track tune.
I'm running M/T street ETs 28" on 16" wheels. but I just got some new 16" wheels with M&H street slicks 30". I needed to go with a bigger tire to get my RPMs down a little.

For you rafa and your 4.56 gears I would get at least a 30 to 32" tire!

I run the street slicks so I can put them on at home and drive to the track.
With the 28s I'm pulling a 1.65 to 1.7--60' time.

Oh and I run my stock 16s on the front for now.

I used to use that very same Street Slick from M&H. IMHO it’s inferior to the competition. I used it for two racing seasons and swapped to the Hoosier Quick Time Pro. A night and day difference. HUGE difference. Same launch technique, same chassis tune, same everything. I used the Hoosier for 4 years and put a set of Mickey Thompson ET Drag radials on last season. The Mickey’s are no better or worse at the track, BUT….on the street, they are worlds better since they are a radial tire vs. the bias ply in the Hoosier.

Just had to put that in this thread since there are so many misinformed/unknowing folks lurking around. Not implying that you yourself are misinformed, but the vast majority of the posters here really don’t know a tie rod from a connecting rod.

BTW Phil, INCREDIBLE 60” times for a 6000lb mass!!!!

Good info rms8. Right now i have an issue with my gears. I have 4.56 gears and that's too much RPM now that i am going with 1" smaller tires. Today i tried to get a 1/4 mile with the smaller tires and the engine cut the fuel around 6K rpm.
I think i will have to install the 3.73 back.

LOL…I was just going to say STAY with the 4.56 at least, but then saw the 6000rpm cut off. I see what you mean. I’m used to going through the traps at 7500rpm, so “for me” the 4.56 would have been the ideal choice. I run a 4.30, but of course this is in a 2900lb Mustang. So if you’re wanting to keep the RPMs down to a tamer 6000, then a more streetable gear selection may be in order, but with a blown application and all the torque it provides in the lower rpm’s, the “streetable” gear is sort of moot since all that extra torque “fills it in”.

Any competent race shop should be able to select a suitable gear selection for you based on your vehicle weight, HP and trap speed & RMP. That’s how I got the 4.30 gear. It’s too expensive to guess which gear may be the best. Leave it to the pro’s for that.

If you know the numbers to the above, I could ask a few of the shops I deal with personally and see if they all come to the same conclusion on best gear ratio, or even better, just give you the numbers and you can call them yourself. All you’re asking for is the product to a simple equation, not trying to jag them for something they could have made some cash for….

Interesting!! I know they look like a harder compound then the M/T street ETs that I run and they hook great! Will see how the M&H do when I try them out.
Thanks.

Thanks.

I loved the Hoosier, but my Mustang sees a LOT more street time than track time, so I choose to go with the Mickey's. If it was 100% a track car, I'd stay with the Hoosiers, but by the same token, I'd probably go with a true slick at that point....

Rafa I have a nifty little excel sheet that will calculate your speed vs. rpm that allows you to put in different tire sizes, axle ratios, and transmission ratios. I used this to help me decide which gears to put in my mustang and F150. Im not quite sure how to post the excel file on here but I can email it to you if you would like.
