Noob here, saying hello.

This is my new (to me) 2005 5.4 4x2 F-150 Super cab. Been a car guy all my life, this will be my first truck. So I will apologize in advance for all my noob questions. Well here she is.

It’s first mod! Soon to be replaced with an Edge Evolution Programmer.

Near future mods will be some wheel to wheel nerf bars and a bull bar.

I have been reading the forums for a while and have seen the many number of performance mods you can do to these trucks, but what are some of the best bang for the buck. I have never seen and real performance gains from exhaust/intake on a stock non FI car, is it the same for our trucks? Thanks

Your EDGE Programmer will be your best bang for the buck mod you will find. You can also go with other tuners or custom tunes such as the great Troyer Performance. Exhaust will help and certainly make it sound good! But after Intake, Tune, and Exhaust, your performance/$ ratio gets further apart. Gears would be a good next step, but they arent cheap. Use the search function and you will find more info than you ever needed! Welcome!!

Yeah, I am finding that out with the small mod list I have come up with that totals a huge amount.

Thanks for the advice. I am not planning on going crazy, just some things to give it a little style and some better performance.
