My 05 keeps dien over nite.No click no crank nothing.I use a boost pack to jump it and its good all day. With it running it makes 14.3 volts shut off its 12.0 volts.
I had this 2 days in a row so I decided to disconnect the batt the next nite to see if it was a draw killin it or was the batt shot. With the batt disconnected it is still dead the next morning. So to me seems batt is no good.Sound correct so far?
It has 9K on the odo so I take it to the dealer for a fix.I tell the advisor the story and that with the batt disconnected it still dies.He says these trucks had issues with batts and he will take care of it.I drop it at 7:30 am and they call at 4:45pm.He says the alpine radio is the problem and every thing else is fine. The radio is a IVA W200 its a couple months old and I did put it in myself.I used a metra harness so no stock wires were cut in any way.I soldered all the connections and used shrink tube on them.I am now 100% sure after double ckecking the wires myself and going to local audio shop and payn $25 to have them double check the connections and the radio its self. Its not the radio plus would the radio be able to drain a batt that I disconnected?Seems like that if batt is disconnected that a draw would not be poss?
What do you fine people think?I know I am just going to get a batt on my own but with 9k on the truck it would be nice to have the dealer fix it.

Make the dealer prove to you it was the deck
Cut your losses and get a Optima battery...the factory batteries in these trucks are crap. If the dealer replaces it he will just put another POS factory battery back in it. Do a search and read all the threads about how many people have needed new batteries.
BTW its just like a dealer to see one aftermarket thing and immediatly blame that for what ever problem your having....
