Bad gas?

Anyone ever get a bad batch of gas before? I filled up this morning and didnt even make it a mile from the station before the truck completely bogged down. I had to get towed in to the dealer for repair.

Will this do any permanent damage? The dealer says no, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for any help or advice.

I've gotten a bad batch of gas before. But not that bad. How empty was your tank before you filled up? Did you fill up at a crappy gas station (ie, non shell, exxon, BP, etc)?

I'd be more prone to thinking some sediment got into your fuel filter and restricted the fuel flow.

My tank was most of the way empty. I still had about 5 gallons in it so I ended up putting about 20 gallons of crappy gas in it.

I filled it up at a Citgo (local 7-11) I swear I hate doing it but once in a while I do if I am in a rush. They accepted responsibility believe it or not and are paying for my little visit to the dealer. When I spoke to them they told me they had water in the tanks two days ago but had it fixed guess again.

I hope I didnt do anything damaging that will appear a year or so down the line.

Thanks,

Awesome...well for the fact they are stepping up and paying for the repairs. Guess you weren't the only one affected. I wouldn't worry about any damages down the line. Your dealer will make sure it's all good to go before they give it back to you.

As much as Chavez hates american's he is still a slave to the almighty Bolivar (Venezuelen currency). Im a Chevron or Mobil man myself anyway, but i bet that Citgo had a tank shift and it sprouted a crack allowing water and deposits in to it's tanks. Im glad they were good enough business owners to know when they are at fault.

Finally got the truck back yesterday....total of $1,100 worth of damage.

Wait till the gas station gets that bill.

They said there was a ton of water in the tank and thus through the whole fuel system.
