Do 07 Mark LTs have HIDs?

I was going to order a set of the 07 Mark LT headlights today...you know the new square ones, and the dealer asked me if they I needed a set for HIDs or standard bulbs. I know the 05 LTs were supposed to have LTs but they were not ever actually offered and this is the first I have heard of the 07s having them. If they do this might be a very easy (and propperly set up) HID swap for us. Has anybody else heard anything about these...I searched both here and Google and came up with nothing?

Nah, they dont come with HID's but would like to know why they told you that? You should get the ones for the HID's and see what they have

EDIT: Maybe the guy misunderstood you for the NAVIGATOR?

No...it was the guy I got my conversion kit from, so who knew exactly what I was talking about. I wanted to order the new grille and headlights, and he specifiacly asked which ones...for HIDs or regular bulbs.

According to www.lincolnvehicles.com, the standard headlights on 2007 Mark LT are "Headlamps — Clear lens quad beam halogen headlamps with autolamp."

I did a build and price and I did not see an option to add HID's. It is possible that it is a dealer-installed option through fordaccessories.com.

No HID option or upgrade option available.

Our only hope for TRUE HID with a proper reflector/projector was with the Saleen F-150 but, Ford scrapped the idea citing costs. Lucky us.

So, for those of us who want to do HID but want to do it the *RIGHT* way rather than blinding glare from a conversion bulb kit -- well, we're SOL... for now.

I always wondered how well the nissan maxima's or lexus is300 reflector would work, my rents have these cars and the cutoff on both is perfect.... I think I need to grab the measuring tape

All the '07s I've seen at work thus far have standard, halogen headlights.

F150Duke made some... can't remember which assembly that he hacked to get the projectors but, it was a Lexus of some flavor, I believe.

ya I've seen his, I wonder what the best non projector retrofit would be..... I want HID's BAAAAAAAAD but I want the correct cuttoff just like my moms maxima, dad's is300 and bros 740il, I'm thinking that the navigator HID headlamp's HID reflector might make a viable retro, I was looking at a hi-red of the saleen f150 HID prototype and it looks like the reflector is a little bit undersized by maby a half inch... it might work...... hmmmmmm

Let us all know if you come up with a viable option. This is on my 'want' list but, I'm not willing to do it myself. I just don't have the time to toss at a project like that nor do I really have the mechanical knowledge on optics nor optics engineering to really go after something like this...

I'd MUCH rather have a 'plug and play' option like the Xenarc system.

I have emailed the dealership back and asked for a part number for the HID lamps...I will let you know what I find out.

IF...and that is a huge IF...they do have HID LT housings available how are HID bulbs sized? Are most of the bulbs a standard size...meaning can you buy pretty much any after market conversion kit and use it with a factory HID housing or are there different size HIDs bulbs like they are halogen bulbs?

The answer from your dealership will be that HID assemblies/housings/bulbs don't exist for the LT. We've road atop this pony for a while -- they're not out there -- we all wish they were but, they're not.

The reason that they won't be able to find a part is because they have not built a single LT with FACTORY HID... well, maybe the protos had them.

I admire your work -- and truly hope that I'm totally wrong -- but, I think it's a lost cause.
