Advice for new Lariat 2wd tires

Hello,
I need to purchase some new tires for my 2004 2wd Lariat. I was hoping to put on some BF Goodrich All Terrains but I understand they don't make them in 265/60/18. Has anyone put the slightly bigger size on their 2wd? Does it do ok? I would like something other than replacing them with more Radial Long Trails but don't want to have to buy new rims, etc.

Looks like BFG's does the Long Trail in the OEM Lariat size, but not the All Terrains. If you want the same size, Goodyear Wranger might be an option. But, they're in the higher end price wise. And for that money, I'd want a larger tire. If it were me, I'd switch to a more aggressive tire that's a little bigger. You can get up to a 33" +/- tire without any rubbing issues. I put Nitto Terra Grappler 285/60R18 tires on my Lariat for the first three years (pics in my gallery). IMO, they have an aggressive look and some extra width to them, but still ride quite smooth. I've also found Discount Tire (.com) stores to be give me the best price/service. You can go with other brands like Toyo, Mickey Thompson, etc. but I'm just not familiar with them to say what sizes they support.

Go to TireRack.com and see what they offer... I personally like the Kumho tires and they have held up well. The price is easy on the wallet as well!

Select the Brands you want to view, put in your tire size and see what pop's up!

Good Luck!

I have the BFG 285/65R18 on stock wheels on my 2wd Lariat Scab. I didn't get much rubbing for the day and a half before I put the leveling kit on it, but that WAS only a day and a half.

With the leveling kit, I'm very happy with the tires. Pics in gallery if you want.

Check out my pics. I put Bridgestone Revos on. Size 265 70R 18. This is a 32.6" tire so a little bigger than stock but well worth it for the performance and look.
