Replaced map lights with LED's

I had some LED's laying around so I decided to replace my map lights. They look great at night. What do you think?

I got the bulbs here http://superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

They are the 168/194 bulbs. I got the white ones

first you need to remove this bin

pull down on this and it pops off

night shot

It takes less than 5 min.

Great! What size are the ones for the back seat? I want to order these all at one time. When you do the back seat take pics and let me know how to do it without screwing it up! Thanks for the help!

It 'looks' cool but, it looks like you're loosing functionality -- that being "focused" light.

Is that true? I ask because I like the look...but, I don't want to loose the function of the map light.

Nice mod.

I might not care as much about the "focused light, if it lights up the inside well enough. But good point. I'm curious if you lose the functionality too.

From what I can see its just a simple wedge bulb. So if you look a the picture where he is holding the bulb in his hand. That part just twists out....you pull out the old bulb and put the new LED in its place (fits the exact same way), and then you just twist the bulb holder in place. It would be the same thing as if you were to change it with the same type of bulb thats already in there.

Based on the viewing angle of these LEDs and the picture, it doesn't look like it spreads light through out the sides of the cab like your traditional bulbs. I like the color, the look, and the idea. I'm just not sold on the functionality too.
