Where did you go to get your tint? I've been looking around Mandeville/Covington and either people are waaaayyy too expensive or I don't feel they are qualified enough to do it.

Thanks

My wife did the same thing a week after I got my tint put on except we were driving onto base and when she lifted her hand up to show her ID her ring caught the tint and scratched it up. Just put a small scratch the size of a pinky fingernail in it, not really too noticable, but everytime I looked at my mirror I saw it and it was noticable to me so I had to get it redone.

By the way I went with 35% on the front windows because that's the legal limit here in MS and HI and I didn't want to hassle with state inspections every year.

What part of TN do you live in? Im in Memphis, and all our inspection consist of is just paying the money so the city can get their raise's. They dont even check the headlight's, wipers, or E-brake anymore.... You give them the renewal slip... they stick the probe in the exhaust... chk your VIN, make sure you front window's not crakced and your on your way!

What a joke!

I just got mine saturday 35% on front window's and 5% on back window's, sliding rear and front strip. And where I live $220 was the cheapest. There used to be some guy's around that did illegal, that's how I did my car's (the one's in my photo album) but I think they got caught and fined or something cuz there no longer around.

can you get pulled over just because a cop thinks your tint is to dark?

also, how hard is it to see at night with 15% on the front sides?

last, anyone ever get pulled over because of a tint?

Since you have existing, you can go either way. Might be a bit cheaper to go over the existing with another piece of film.

every state is different but most states I have lived in the tint is a secondary offense. They will only ticket for tint if they pull you over for something else.

I agree with smokie700, It's not a big crime, but In my state or my city at least, cop's can pull you over If they think your tint is to dark, and I've been pulled over before, lots of times. But I always tell them some lame excuse and they let me go with a warning, so lucky me, they never gave me a ticket. And for 15% tint, yeah It's going to be dark, so reversing is going to be a task.

In Texas, illegal tint is a stand-alone offense that can generate a citation. At the very least it is probable cause for a traffic stop and inquiry. Most DPS Troopers have the hand held meters and can read the light transmission on the spot. That said, I've been operating with 5% on the front sides and 5% over the factory in the back (which brings it down to ~1% in the rear). Also I have the eyebrow strip down to about 9". Never been stopped or refused state inspection. In fact nobody even seems to notice (knock on wood).

Window tinting various everywhere. So what people paid on here may not apply to you. I had my windows tinted to match in the front and put 20% on the rear window. From the factory the rear window was just too light. I paid $90 for that.

Well, months later I really noticed the front did not match the back and it was too light for me. So recently I had the front windows removed and retinted, and I had my back windows and rear tinted as well. 5% overall.

I paid $100 for that with a hookup. So it just depends. $100 on all windows vs $90 for 3.

All day car care. They are behind Enterprise car rental off of the east side of 190 service road.
I reccomend them to anyone. I feel like they did a good quality job as well. I paid cash because I went darker than legal.

I run 35% and like it.....our law is 50%, which is one shade lighter. It was $80 for the front 2 windows. The shop that did it is known to be expensive, but does great work (warranty too).
