Heat and A/C Vent Problems...Question

2004 F150 Lariat with auto climate control.

Yesterday when I got in my truck to turn on my A/C and route it to the dash vents only (the ones that blow air directly onto the driver and passenger), it seems the air is very weak coming out of those vents now and I also feel the air coming out from the defroster vent and the floor vents.

It's as if the blower box is screwed up and the baffles in there or whatever moves to redirect the air to the selected vents isn't working now. It won't go on full defrost (upper vents only) and it won't go on floor only vents. The airs seems to come out all of the vents instead of just the ones you want. Of course my system always worked fine before and would blow really hard out of the dash vents. There's definitely something wrong.

Has anyone had this problem or heard of it before? Hopefully it's something simple since it's no longer under warranty

The blend door is jambed. Take it in or work the controls back and forth between the settings it could possibly free it.

Is there a way to work the blend door back and forth manually? Is there a way to access that without much fuss from inside the truck?

if you lay on the drivers floor with your head against the gas pedal and look straight up you will see some plastic levers or "bellcranks". the way they are designed they contact each other. i had a problem that the dealer did not being able to fix a problem of the ac blowing hot. i had some spray called tri flow teflon. put a couple rags on the floor and sprayed away. havent had a problem since. in addition to it blowing hot it would make a growling sound when it went full travel. when i looked at it, it was not going all the way.
