ya I'm sure the d/s loop isn't there to keep the axle from flying off the track and killing people watching the event. Also I didn't know race cars weighed 6,000 lbs I thought weight was a disadvantage.

JMO, I only made it up to physics for engineers (I think it was quantum physics)- my Molecular and Cellular biology degree didn't require any further physics.

But I guess any thing "could" cause a catastrophic accident. I wold like to see a mythbusters episode about this.
