Lift laws
Hey guys... the local police here are getting ridiculous. There was an article in the newspaper that the township cops are cracking down on every little thing. The station basically needs to make money so they are preying on us. They are needing to meet specific quotas which are outrageous. My school is in the township so i have to go through there. They are getting everyone for window tint, tinted tail lights, exhuast infractions mainly on diesels, tires sticking out etc. They are also starting to get people for their bumper heights. What is the legal heighth in PA? I thought i saw somewhere 36'? IF thats so i cant get a 6inch lift?
everything im reading for PA is that the bottom of your bumper may not be more than 30" above the surface...

Actually for an F150 is kinda looks like 28" to the bottom of the front bumper and 30" for the rear sicne the F150 falls into the 7001-9000lbs class. Here is what it says
Maximum Height
Passenger cars 22 inches 22 inches
Trucks and multipurpose passenger Vehicles
------------------------front-------rear--------------------------------
5,000 lbs. or less GVWR 24 inches 26 inches
5,001 lbs.—7,000 lbs. GVWR 27 inches 29 inches
7,001 lbs.—9,000 lbs. GVWR 28 inches 30 inches
9,001 lbs.—11,000 lbs. GVWR 30 inches 30 inches

What township cracking down on this so I can avoid this town. I live near pittsburgh Natrona heights area. Up 28 expressway from pittsburgh. I'm ok now but when summer hits I put on my 35x13.5x18 procomp xtreme AT tires.

I just measured mine which has a Rancho 4" on 35's;
1) Front bumper (bottom of chrome not valance) 24"
2) Rear bumper (lowest part @ hitch, measured bumper not hitch) 24"
3) Rear bumper (at ends, below tail lights) 25.5"
Obviously, add 2" to that and you'll still be more than ok. If 28" front and 30" rear you'll have a couple of inches to spare.

I suspect that the bumper height is to the bottom ? as it is a safety issue to ensure that cars arent getting creamed when they get hit by these things.
