Exclamation new center console !!!NEED HELP FAST!!!

hey guys, there was a thread about maybe a month ago where a guy ordered a center console liek this and switched it for it center fold down seat.. i am reallly considering this mod, generally because i think it looks 10 times better, and also bc i never use the middle seat.

my questions are, my truck interior is cloth grey, wiht black dash etc. and the arm or top of the storage compartment is white.. is there any where i can get a black or grey one? or do i just have to keep looking on ebay..

and then also, for the install.. im just guessing that you unbolt the current seat now, and then unpluh the 12v outlet, and then reatatch to the new one, and bolt on...

if anybody has done this or has the mod thread bookmard or any ideas on the arm rest cover.. please let me know, this listing ends tomarrow on the 2nd at noon i believe.. (only 15 hours from now)

thanks for any help

FYI -- the top of that unit is not white -- it is the same basic gray that is used in other areas of the interior!

It is a very simple "bolts-out/bolts in" installation -- the only special tool you need is a large Torx bit (T-50 I think?) that fits on your ratchet. I have done this mod to my regular cab truck and like it very much!

The mod is pretty popular and you'd be lucky to get one below $200.

About a year ago they were going for $300 and thats worth it. I painted the side of mine black and it came out perfect. Get anyone you can and paint it. Its a huge improvement over the center seat.

Mine went for $300 plus shipping on a "Buy It Now" transaction. I've watched a fair number of them on ebay over the years and most go for somewhere in the $250 - $300 range if they're in decent shape.....

yep that looks like a grey lid to me too. if i won the auction, i'd spend a little more and swap out the lid for the black leather Lariat lid. looks MUCH better imo.

Same here...

I got one from the same guy a month ago for around 175 + shipping. One note on the bolts, mine were NOT Torx bolts. They were 15 mm hex heads.

Here's an ebay tip: Don't bid until the end of the auction. Figure out what the max you'll pay is and put in that bid with ~20 seconds left in the auction. If you bid days before it's over, then other people will outbid and drive the price up. You're hurting yourself by bidding early. Let the guy who has already bid sit there and think he has it won, and then BANG, beat him right at the end.

If he happens to have a higher bid than what you put in, you lose, but you'll never get pushed into bidding back and forth and paying more than you feel comfortable with.

The guy on eBay selling those consoles has been selling them for the past two months. So if you don't win one, most likely he'll re-list another one until he runs out. They are always 3 day auctions too. Lately they've been going for around $180. I bought mine from 05RedFX4 on here, he painted the top silver and sides black to match the FX4 interior. Looks much better than the center seat. Pictures in my gallery.

Eastrick: That's a good eBay tip, that's what I do, I never bid until the last couple seconds.
