I purchased the OEM step bars back in the fall and they are holding up great against the northwest Pennsylvania winter. They are all aluminum (even the mounting brackets) with a black krinkle powder coating so even if the do chip, they won't rust. They installed in about 15 minutes, super easy. I have an 06 STX 4x4 SC for reference. I paid $300 out the door from my local dealer. If you can get them for $200, go for it. I am very please with them.

Here is a thread from a while ago when I asked the about them.

My 04 FX4 SCREW has the OEM black nerf bars with the rubber step plates but mine are made of steel and begining to rust quite badly. I plan on pulling them off this spring and have them either powdercoated or rhino lined if I can get the rubber off. (They are blistering all around the edges of the rubber.)
I am very disappointed on how they have rusted.

My 01 SCREW had running boards also but they were more of a molded plastic. They looked as good 5 years later as the day I got the truck.

The black tubular oem step bars on mine still look great.

I bought it new in November 2004 and have 34,000 miles on them.
