He was behind me on the freeway in the left lane and decided to change lanes to the right. He was watching the right lane instead of paying attention to me and the flow of traffic. His driver's side front hit my passenger's side rear. He didn't even notice me because he didn't brake at all. Luckily it was during the freak dust storm that clouded Dallas last Saturday because we were all going about 40 MPH on the freeway. Any faster, there would have been even more damages.

Wow, a bed for an F-150 costs $7,000? Damn! I had no idea they were that expensive. Little bastard driving a company truck oughtta pay for it out of his paycheck. If I was you, I'd make sure their insurance company pays up, I wouldn't report it to yours. Why let your premiums go up for some ****head?

Man that 183 traffic is brutal. I'm originally from Houston but I don't think the traffic here is any better by any means. Did he not see you or what? Was it a lane change incident or just didn't stop in time? It looks like he was too busy text messaging his girl while listening to whatever "alternative" band is hot this week on his ipod while drinking a $6 starbucks small crapachino. Sorry it happened. Look at it this way, at least he hit you and not the other way around, let his insurance foot the bill!

Im curious why having an accident makes you a ****head? Obviously the company will have auto insurance, so no big deal. His insurance wouldnt even know, so Im not sure what the issue is. And also, I dont know how many of you have company vehicles, but as many miles as some guys drive in company vehicles accidents happen. So to say that it should come out of his paycheck is ludicrous, its the risk a company takes when offering vehicles. Im mean we've all had accidents, some even at fault, so I dont see how a "20 yr old driving a company vehicle" is any different.

Either way, sorry about your accident.

I drive a company vehicle all the time, if I have an accident all the charges go on my personal insurance and license. Not a single penny gets charged to the company.

Yeah definitely letting his insurance company flip the bill. They sent me to their local adjuster. Sort of seedy place off Harry Hines. But he had some high end vehicles in there, and his shop was pretty clean. He offered to replace my windshield free of charge if I went with him. But I haven't seen his total estimate yet. I'm waiting. I also told the insurance company that i need a truck or SUV for a rental as I haul equipment and tools for work. They said ok.

On a seperate note, the kid couldn't have been nicer. Yeah, he should've been paying attention, but I think we've all done it before ... almost hit someone changing lanes or not paying attention. Don't get me wrong. I was upset, but I didn't take it out on him. Things happen. I'm still here, be it with a slight headache, but nevertheless still here. Maybe I should drive on to the shoulder next time so he doesn't hit me.

Hopefully they won't use this as a way to negate accepting liability.

I was visiting Dallas last Saturday and was caught in that same dust storm. I was thinking about how much damage the dust could do to your paint but not really thinking about getting smacked by someone. Reminded me of a thick, brown fog. Hope his employer takes care of you.
