Anyone trust buying these cheap LT handles???

is there a way for the chrome part to come off so they can paint the buckets? or do they just tape it and paint around it. i just want to make sure they can do a good job painting.........the cheap ones will only save me $80 and i am wondering if it will be worth getting the prepainted ones....
