Hey guys,

2006 XLT 4X4
I am considering a 2" or 2.5" leveling kit. Any recommendation on which brand to go with? Can they be installed without special tools(spring compressors, etc.)? If so, how hard are they to install? Thanks in advance for all the help, I would be clueless without this site...

I have the autospring 2inch kit and it was EZ to install if you do a search theres a few guys on here with some great pix of the install

 

The autospring doesn't require anything special, the daystar kits require one. That's about it. I tossed $150 at a local spring shop to install and align it. Couple hours later I was in style and my hands didn't get greasy.

 

My Autospring 2" front and Autospring 1 1/2" rear lifts are sitting on the table waiting for me to slap em' in. Picked up the 1 1/16th wrench and 30mm socket tonight so I have what I need to put them in.

 

So there's no need to compress the springs?

 

Nope, the spacer bolts onto the top of the strut assembly.

 

Well, that's cool since I spent about the same (actually more with the $100 jack I needed anyhow) on just the alignment, tools, and beer. My hands barely got greasy either (low mileage, and frequent degreasing), but I did sweat through a t-shirt, and learned alot about my truck's front suspension (priceless).

 

This ebay seller says that there is no need for an alignment after the install...

Is this true...

Thanks alot Abaddon.... I almost bought those other ones too... but looks like I just read the "07" part.... not many things on ebay are 07 capable... although not much has changed from the 06's to the 07's... so I jumped on it lol
