2007 FFV recall

Yup... got a recall notice today for a software error that may cause the vehicle to stop monitoring the effectiveness of the catalytic converter. They want to reflash the PCM to the latest software level. Sounds like no big deal. Recall number is 07E19.

Does this recall have something to do with the FFV?

Ever since I put E85 into my truck, I have consistently been getting worse gas mileage. Even two months after the fact.

lmao, a pcm update that only affects potential extra emissions. Wow, what a huge problem!

i have heard that E85 always will get worse gas milage than gas, but it is cheaper and burns cleaner...........

If I remember correctly, anything with safety or emissions problems become recalls. Mandated by the Feds. Everything else is a TSB.

I believe you are correct. I've read that as well.
A re-programming of a PCM for an issue like that is no big deal at all, sadly however, certain "memebers" here would love nothing more than to hear about a Ford recall.

Well yes when running the E85 I should get worse mileage. But I used one tank of E85 two months ago, and even today my mileage has gone down.

Interesting, I haven't received a notice yet. Guess I should be checking the mail for it.
